Whether you are taking trips to the candy bowl at the office or sneaking a piece of your kid’s candy (don’t deny it, we all do it), Halloween can sometimes leave you feeling, well, blah. Some sweets here and there are OK, but like most things, moderation is the key. Here are some healthy options when it comes to planning an office (or home) Halloween party. Bonus: these tactics will tie in nicely to PPACA wellness programs!
- Cut back on the candy. When the party planning committee gets together undoubtedly the first item on the purchase list will be candy. Take the amount you were planning on buying and buy a third of that amount. Your employees will surely have the opportunity to get their fair share of candy elsewhere.
- We didn’t say NO sweets. Fruit and pretzels lightly dipped in chocolate provide a refreshing snack that will impress anyone’s sweet tooth.
- Don’t forget to check the cooler. Instead of offering sugary sodas and punches, try offering bottled water with a variety of flavored water packs to choose from.
- Enjoy the fall foliage. Depending on where you live, it could be feasible to hold your Halloween bash outdoors. The fresh air will remove the stressors of the office and fun activities can get people moving.
Impending cavities are one thing, but the worst kind of scare is a health scare. How do you motivate your employees to live a healthy lifestyle?
